Aero Instruments & Avionics purchases Teradyne Spectrum CTS
13 Dec 2011Aero Instruments & Avionics has purchased an advanced ATE solution for commercial airplane avionics, the Teradyne Spectrum CTS. Specifically designed to perform complete diagnostics on the avionics systems of Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767 airplanes, the Spectrum CTS also provides new capability for 737NG, 777, and offers future capability to support the 787 Dreamliner and 747-8. The Spectrum CTS will replace the ATS-182a which Aero currently operates, providing continuity of our current support capabilities while opening the window to support the new airframes being delivered to our customers. “In order to maintain the quality service that we are recognized for in the industry, going forward we need to move the testing capabilities of the ATS- 182a to a new platform that is approved by the LRU manufacturer and that will allow Aero to expand its capabilities for future growth,” Jeff Plewinski, Aero’s VP of Engineering Services says. “The Teradyne Spectrum CTS is that tester.”
“We are very pleased that Aero Instruments has chosen to replace their ATS-182a with the Teradyne Spectrum CTS system. The Teradyne Spectrum CTS allows Aero Instruments to expand their support of Boeing’s fleet to include the 777 and 737NG, and to maintain their support of Boeing’s 737, 747, 757, 767 fleet of airplanes.” – Attila Shevket, Product Marketing Manager, Teradyne, Inc.
