Airliner Damaged Attempting to Land in Windshear

Yesterday, August 28, 2018, a Capital Airlines Airbus A320 flight from Beijing to Macao attempted to land during strong winds and reported windshear. This resulted in a hard landing with damage to the nose gear during the attempt.

Some pieces of the gear that broke away were then ingested into the left engine. The flight diverted to Shenzen and landed there where the nose gear sheared away. Passengers were evacuated via the emergency slides.
