AerSale Launches New Parts Manufacturing Business

AerSale is launching a new business unit, AerSale Parts Manufacturing, in Roswell, New Mexico. An official ribbon-cutting ceremony that included Roswell Mayor Dennis Kintigh, Randy Phelps AerSale Parts Manufacturing general manager, and members of the Roswell Chamber of Commerce group called the Redcoats, was held on September 25, 2018.

AerSale Parts Manufacturing has received Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to produce commercial and military aircraft parts (FAA PMA PQ03874SW). The business unit will also be responsible for developing proprietary systems such as AerSafe and AerTrak, which have been issued Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) from the FAA to comply with the agency’s various rules and mandates.

“AerSale Parts Manufacturing is a full-service design/build/install aircraft modification and alteration facility, from initial concept to certification,” said Phelps. “Our extensive capabilities expand AerSale’s current MRO offerings to include engineering and design, metal fabrication, wire harness fabrication, marking and ID capabilities, system kitting, and end-product supply logistics management.”

The new business unit’s Roswell location at 703 East Challenger Street, Building 240, features a 17,000-square-foot FAA-approved manufacturing facility with dedicated fabrication, warehousing and logistics, state-of-the-art LED lighting, and employee-designed-and-built wire harness manufacturing stations with the latest harness retention systems. Teams will handle all aspects of the manufacturing process including design, engineering, and production.

AerSale currently owns and operates several MROs, incorporating aspects of everything from heavy aircraft maintenance and modification to storage and disassembly of assets. The PMA capability allows AerSale to not only service internal company aircraft with modification and alterations, but allows customers to also bring in their aircraft, modernize them with specific upgrades such as in-flight entertainment systems, interior reconfigurations, avionics upgrades, and FAA/CAA-mandated regulatory compliance, without having to outsource additional design-build projects. AerSale also now has the ability to manufacture components and have the installation completed and tested on-site at its Roswell, New Mexico, and Goodyear, Arizona, MRO facilities, in addition to selling the kits and having installations conducted off-site.

AerSale will continue to develop new and forward-thinking products for aircraft owners and operators to meet the demands of cargo carriers as well as a growing and more demanding traveling public.
