AVIC Selects THOMMEN’S New Stratotimer for the MA700 Airliner

Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) Xi’an Aircraft Company Commercial Aircraft Co., Ltd. (XCAC) has selected the STRATOTIMER next-generation digital aircraft clock for its MA700 twin-engine medium-range turboprop airliner. STRATOTIMER is THOMMEN’s latest multifunction onboard time management system, featuring a modular design with  configurability to support numerous cockpit modernizations and forward-fit programs on fixed and rotary-wing aircraft.

The MA700 will be manufactured at the XCAC plant in Xi’an, China, and is expected to make its first flight in 2020 and to enter into serial production in 2022. THOMMEN is partnering with its exclusive STRATOTIMER distributor for the MA700 program, East Wonder International, Inc., and its Chinese branch for in-country sales, supply and support.

The STRATOTIMER includes GPS synchronization, ARINC 429 and USB interfaces, discrete in and outputs, programmable timers, configurable aural alarms, user-settable color schemes, automatic brightness and day/night/NVIS adjustments, as well as an S-Video port for external cameras or sensors. STRATOTIMER ™ also comes as a direct form, fit and function replacement for numerous legacy clocks installed on a large quantity of air transport aircraft.
