Cebu Pacific Air Adds A321s To AFI KLM E&M Components Contract

Seven A321ceo and 32 A321neo aircraft are being included in the component support contract signed in 2017 by Cebu Pacific Air initially covering its fleet of over 40 Airbus A320s. The array of services provided under the long-term contract includes component repairs from Singapore and AFI KLM E&M’s worldwide repair network as well as access to a local spares pool. The contract extension bolsters AFI KLM E&M’s  position in the Asian market for component support services, embodied in particular through its local joint venture with Sabena Technics, Singapore Component Solutions (SCS) as well as a large regional customer community operating from various hubs throughout the region. SCS, a component repair shop launched in September 2016, is operating out of Singapore’s Seletar airport with some 6,500 sq.m. of repair facilities.

“We are pleased to be able to benefit from the skills of an A320 components market leader,” said Ian Wolfe, head of Engineering of Cebu Pacific Air. “Singapore Component Solutions is an efficient, responsive MRO backed by its parents’ regional logistics centers and parts inventories and by their technical expertise.”

SCS specializes in repairs for A320, ATR and Fokker 100 fleets and has recently added repair capability for A330. With capabilities for avionics, mechanical and pneumatic components, along with aerostructure, cabin and safety components, SCS has developed a comprehensive offering for customers in the Asia region. This regional shop is backed up by the all-round industrial capabilities of our Paris shops, especially for Airbus fleets.

“In 2017, Cebu Pacific Air signed a first contract with us. It is a fairly recent customer, so it is a great honor to be able to extend our contract so soon,” Dominik Wiener Silva, vice president Sales AFI KLM E&M, comments. “We have taken up a challenge by demonstrating our ability to adapt to Cebu Pacific’s high operational requirements as well as ambitious fleet plans. We look forward to being part of an exciting and successful journey ahead.”
