Companies Sign GE OnPoint Solution Agreements at Paris

TAM Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, Virgin America, All Nippon Airways (ANA), flydubai and Copa Airlines all signed OnPoint Solution agreement with GE Aviation. TAM signed for the maintenance of its CF6-80C2E engine fleet that powers its Boeing 767 aircraft. Along with the CF6-80C2 engine, TAM operates GE90-powered Boeing 777, CF6-80E1-powered Airbus A330s and CFM56-powered Airbus A320 aircraft. “This maintenance contract with GE, together with others previously signed, is key to assure efficiency and safety in our operation,” states José Zaidan Maluf, TAM’s supply and contract vice president. TAM Airlines also signed an OnPoint Fuel & Carbon Solutions agreement with GE Aviation. Using proprietary decision software and fuel-consulting expertise, GE’s Fuel & Carbon Solutions team will work with TAM to identify and track operational improvements that could reduce the airline’s fuel spend by an average of three percent. GE and Cathay Pacific Airways have reached a 15-year OnPoint solution agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the airline’s GE90-115B engines that power its additional 18 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. “We are pleased that Cathay Pacific signed this 15-year OnPoint solution agreement, which recognizes the MRO expertise and quality workscoping that GE Aviation provides to our engine customers, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with Cathay Pacific,” says Kevin McAllister, vice president and general manager, Global Sales for GE Aviation. Copa Airlines signed a 12-year OnPoint solution agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its CF34-10E engines that power its 26 Embraer E190 aircraft operated by the airline and Copa Airlines Colombia, both subsidiaries of Copa Holdings. The OnPoint solution agreement is valued at close to $250 million over the life of the contract. Virgin America has expanded its existing 12-year OnPoint solution agreement to include its newly ordered 60 CFM56-5B engines that will power its A320 aircraft. The expanded service agreement is valued at more than $320 million dollars over the life of the contract. All Nippon Airways (ANA) signed a 10-year OnPoint solution agreement with GE Aviation for the material to support its GE90 engine fleet. ANA operates 19 GE90-115B-powered Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The deal is valued at close to $500 million. flydubai signed a 10-year OnPoint solution agreement for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of its 109 CFM56-7B engines that power its Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft.
