Corendon Airlines Aligns with navAero for Tablet EFB System

navAero announced recently the contract signing with Corendon Airlines for the deployment of the navAero Tablet EFB system for the airline’s B737-300/800 fleet.

The navAero Tablet EFB system will be installed with provisioning that features a fully adjustable mount for the customer selected iPad tablet device and connectivity to aircraft power for device charging that will allow Corendon Airlines to achieve their initial program goal of flying paperless in early 2014.

The navAero Tablet EFB System consists of a modular, proprietary designed “Smart” Mount tablet holder that securely contains that tablet device and meets all appropriate DO-160 requirements. The holder is integrally equipped with the navAero Power/Data Interface (PDi) module that converts 28VDC aircraft power to that which is appropriate for charging the tablet device.

Mr. Ridvan Helvaci, engineering manager at Corendon Airlines, stated: “In searching for new ways to improve our overall operations performance, we found the navAero Tablet EFB system to be the best solution in the market. It gives us a flexible and adaptable deployment platform for the tablet device that is expandable to help improve situation awareness and safety.”

Simone Giordano, navAero group president, stated: “We are very pleased to have Corendon Airlines be the newest member of the ever-growing navAero family of airlines who have embraced our Class 2 EFB technology. The initial acceptance and adoption rate of our Tablet EFB solution by the airline market has exceeded our expectations and we are now seeing that rate as a continuing trend.”

Giordano continued: “The customers who have chosen our Tablet solution realize a total EFB System that starts with mounting provisions for the device so it can be used in all phases of flight. The system can then be expanded to provide aircraft power, aircraft data connectivity all the way through to complete end-to-end wireless connectivity from aircraft to operations. It’s a certified system that brings together all the components under strict certified approval that provides for the utmost in reliability and usability. The system’s flexibility to adapt to different needs in terms of platform and capability is its core added value.”

Deployments on the Corendon Airlines fleet will begin in mid-2014.
