Delta Air Lines Jet Slides off Taxiway in Kansas City

A Delta Air Lines plane slid off a taxiway early Friday morning, January 17, 2020 at Kansas City International Airport (KCI). The conditions on the runway were slick due to a winter storm that left the taxiways and runways slippery. The aircraft was taxiing out for takeoff and the nose wheel departed the taxiway after the aircraft slid due to the slick conditions.

There were no reports of injuries and passengers were taken by bus back to the terminal and rebooked. KCI officials shut down the airport after the incident.
