Flybe Acts to Save Some Jobs at Monarch

Flybe, an airline also experiencing some challenges, has acted to save more than one hundred jobs from the engineering arm of Monarch, which reportedly has gone under.

According to a report in the UK-based “The Telegraph,” Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL) failed on Friday, which will result in the loss of around 400 positions.

But 182 positions had been saved, according to the administrators handling affairs for the future.

Local unions said the job losses were a “terrible way to start the New Year.”

Monarch Airlines collapsed in 2017 which results in tens of thousands of stranded customers and close to 2000 jobs lost.
