Lufthansa Technik AG and GE Aviation have entered into a long-term agreement related to material supply, which also extends to the supply of OEM spare parts, and parts repairs of CF6-80C2 and CF34 engines operated by Lufthansa Technik’s customers.
As part of this agreement, Lufthansa Technik and GE will jointly develop and utilize each other’s component repairs as well as other support elements for their respective maintenance, repair and overhaul services.
“GE Aviation and Lufthansa Technik have deep experience in developing innovative component repair and overhaul solutions for their customers,” said David Joyce, president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation. “By working closely together, we anticipate increasing the number of component repair and overhaul technologies developed each year to further help our customers lower their cost of ownership.”
“Over the last years, we have forged a good relationship with GE, based on the development of joint engine parts repairs and engine overhaul processes, and with this agreement we are furthering this relationship by increasing the use of GE spare parts, while also collaborating to reduce engine maintenance costs,” said August Henningsen, CEO of Lufthansa Technik.
