New Kindle Book "The Skydrol Story"

“The Skydrol Story” by John Churchill, who was personally involved in the airline introduction of Skydrol in the 1960s, has been released on Kindle. The history and introduction of Skydrol hydraulic fluid, the reasons why it was developed and the difficulties in it’s acceptance are the focus of the book. The foreword is by Karel Ledeboer, ex-engineering director of KLM and technical director of IATA. The book contains hyperlinks to several accident reports including one YouTube film of an actual aircraft fire in which mineral oil hydraulic fluid provided the fuel. The book will go some way to justifying to airline maintainance engineers the difficulties that they are required to experience to allow aircraft that extra degree of safety brought by fire resistant hydraulic fluid in high pressure systems.
