New Partnership Takes Off at Amsterdam

Two leading aviation companies have formed a strategic partnership in the UK and are attending their first trade show together in Amsterdam. Experienced aircraft interiors manufacturer Flitetec has joined forces with cutting-edge aerospace consultancy Inter-Tec for the new initiative. They will be exhibiting together at MRO Europe – the international trade fair for maintenance, repair and overhaul in aerospace – in Amsterdam on October 16 to 18.

Flitetec will also be showcasing new products, including its new dynamically engineered cabin divider, and officially launching its new website. “Our new partnership brings together our longstanding manufacturing expertise with Inter-Tec’s cutting-edge design capabilities,” Trevor Lea, managing director of Amersham-based Flitetec, says.“It represents a milestone in our growth as we continue to expand in size, expertise and reach. We’re looking forward to attending Amsterdam together to explain how we can offer a complete, one-stop service for the benefit of customers in the UK, Europe and worldwide.”

The new partnership brings together European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 21 J and G certifications for design and manufacture expertise. Inter-Tec, which is based at Prestwick in Scotland, is a specialist in design, analysis, certification and training.  “We’re delighted to be working with, and building our business relationship with Flitetec, bringing together complementary skill-sets and expertise to create high-quality, cost effective solutions for clients,” Managing director Fred Gorrie says. “We are now ideally positioned to jointly develop new opportunities in the UK, European and global marketplace.”

Flitetec touts more than 30 years’ expertise and experience in aircraft interior plastics and products. It says it has sold more than four million products worldwide in new designs and reverse engineered, bespoke and specialist components. They include plastic mouldings, door locks and latches, seat components and meal trays for all major airlines worldwide.
The 20-strong company holds EASA and UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) accreditations, including Part 21 (G) and Part 145 Approvals.

Inter-Tec has been delivering solutions to the aviation industry since 1997, and offers a 15-strong design, certification and management team. To date that company says it has provided more than 500 modification and repair solutions, including a number of STCs, under its EASA Part 21J approval. Inter-Tec was also among the first UK consultancies to gain AS/EN9100 revision D Approval during 2018.

Although working together, both companies remain independently owned and separately operated.

Flitetec and Inter-Tec will be on stand 1080M in the Part 21 Pavilion at Amsterdam.
