Sherwin-Williams SKYscapes Adds Special Mica Effects

Sherwin-Williams Aerospace Coatings has expanded its SKYscapes basecoat-clearcoat polyurethane aerospace paint system to include special mica effects with 30 new “pearl” color options.

The SKYscapes mica colors now feature translucent pearl and mica pigments, rather than traditional metallic flakes, for vivid special effects looks on fixed wing and rotor aircraft. The pigments are represented on its new color card and deck that feature such colors as Feisty Red Pearl, Glamour Green Pearl, Blue Tempest Pearl, Diamond Mine Pearl and Brilliant Brown Pearl, to name only a few.

SKYscapes mica colors now offer outstanding color characteristics, consistent viscosity from color to color and easier management of complicated paint schemes.

Sherwin-Williams exclusive SKYscapes basecoat-clearcoat topcoat system is applied using a revolutionary process that not only saves money on materials and labor, but also delivers brighter colors and more exciting paint schemes to better protect airline and other liveries.

Featuring ‘exceptional appearance from topcoat to bottom line’, paint shops and MRO facilities can now cut as much as 30 percent from its painting process time – and eliminate most bake cycles.
