Southwest Airlines and Boeing Ask for More Time for 717 Inspections

An Associated Press report says that Boeing and Southwest Airlines have asked the FAA for more time to inspect their 717 aircraft. Cracks found in the jets prompted the need for the inspections but lack of spare parts from the manufacturer is driving the request for more time. Most of the 717 aircraft came from the AirTran merger with Southwest. To see the Associated Press story click here.
