Tornado Sweeps Through Antalya Int’l. Airport in Turkey

On Saturday, January 26, a dozen or more people who were about to board a plane at Antalya International Airport in Turkey, were injured when a tornado struck. The tornado caused significant damage to two airplanes, sent multiple buses skittering across the ramp and blew aircraft from their parking gates.

Footage captured by passengers waiting to board shows the intense storm as it pushed airplanes, felled airstairs and turned over buses.

An Onur Air Airbus A321-231 and a Corendon Airline Boeing 737-MAX8 were both damaged. In addition, buses, airstairs and a police helicopter were also damaged. In spite of the storm and damage, the airport remained open for air traffic.
