AJW Technique, Montreal MRO facility, has been granted certification under the Controlled Goods Programs (CGP) of the Canadian Federal Government.
The programme, which is administered by the Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), regulates the examination, possession, and transfer in Canada of controlled goods and/or controlled technology.
The certification permits AJW Technique to possess or transfer controlled goods in accordance with the Defence Production Act and the Controlled Goods Regulations and perform MRO on Inertial Reference Units for commercial aircraft, which are classified as IATA Dual Use.
As the certification is a core requirement in order to act as a supplier for any military or government programs, it would also allow AJW to expand into the military sector.
Christopher Whiteside, president and CEO of AJW, said: “We are proud to have secured certification as it will support AJW Technique’s continued global growth and will add to the existing full repair capability for the majority of ATA chapters across commercial and business aircraft.”
