Gemini Air Group of Scottsdale Arizona has opened its all new construction, 60,000 square foot state of the art hangar facility at KSDL airport.
Founder and CEO Timothy Carpay, started his aviation career as a bush pilot in Canada. Tim’s new business aviation profile now includes a new facility, Part 145 approved aircraft maintenance, Part 135 approved aircraft charter and management, hangar leasing and aircraft Sales.
The new hangar facility is 60,000 square feet with tail clearance for any corporate aircraft, including customer and pilots’ lounges, offices, complete flight line services, U. S. Customs and fueling for the resident aircraft. The hangar is located on the west side of the airport for easy access to Scottsdale Blvd., and has a large area for onsite parking.
Greg Laabs has been named general manager of the Part 145 division. Greg has been involved in corporate aircraft maintenance for over 39 years, where he has earned the reputation of leading teams that deliver highly rated quality service and customer care. Gemini says his expertise covers almost all corporate aircraft product lines (from Turbo-Prop to large corporate jet aircraft).
Laab’s career includes working at Duncan Aviation as a technician and developing in to a leadership roles that eventually lead him to West Star Aviation (GJT) for eight years as VP/GM, and Gulfstream Appleton, Wisc., serving for seven years as VP/GM. In addition, he has held senior leadership roles at Stevens Aviation, Banyan, Mayo Aviation and Tempus Jets.

Eugene (Gene) Sorkine has been named maintenance manager. Sorkine has mor ethan 35 years in the aviation maintenance market. Sorkine holds an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license and has his Inspection Authorization approval. His experience includes Air Research Aviation, Corporate Jets and Land Mark Aviation, dealing with turbo prop to jet aircraft major maintenance and repair.
Rob Louviaux has been named project manager on the Twin Commander Product line. He has over 30 years experience on Twin Commanders. He brings a level of experience to Gemini to move them into a leader in the industry on servicing the Twin Commander.
Michael Hudgins, is now VP aircraft sales and leasing for Gemini Air Group. Hudgins has 40 years experience in general and corporate aviation in varying capacities, including amassing over 13,000 hrs. as pilot in command, owning and operating an FBO and two aircraft dealerships. Hudgins has spent the last 22 years exclusively concentrated on the sales, brokerage and leasing of corporate type turbo prop and jet aircraft, developing an extensive network of aircraft finance and leasing sources. Providing a single source purchasing or selling experience tailored to each client’s needs.
Hangar leasing continues to grow with the new hangar currently nearing capacity. Gemini has fuel available for all hangar tenants, including full line service.
Aircraft charter is extremely active, Gemini says and is currently operating four aircraft on their charter certificate, including a Challenger 601 aircraft. Maintenance management is included on all aircraft on the certificate. With increased volume building, additional aircraft are being added, Gemini says.
