Ramp Worker Killed at Atlanta Hartsfield

A ramp worker was pinned between a baggage loader and an aircraft and killed on Wednesday, September 25 at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Reports say the worker, a contractor for United Airlines, was caught between the vehicle and the plane’s baggage opening.

The worker was taken to a local hospital in Atlanta, Grady Hospital where he later died. He worked for G2 Secure Staff. A statement from the company said that it “is devastated by the death of an employee at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport earlier this week.”

Authorities are actively investigating the accident and the company is assisting. A written statement by G2 CEO Daniel Norman said, “Our hearts go out to his family and our primary focus at this time is to support them and his Atlanta-based colleagues.”

“While incidents like what took this place this week are rare, we are committed to working with all our airline partners and their contractors to make sure that corrective actions are taken to prevent something like this from happening again,” a statement from Hartsfield-Jackson officials said.
