Air Niugini Selects StandardAero for PW123 Pay-Per-Hour Support

Air Niugini, the national airline of Papua New Guinea, has re-selected StandardAero to provide Pratt & Whitney Canada PW123 engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services in support of the Dash 8 regional turboprops operated by its subsidiary Link PNG.  This new pay-per-hour engine maintenance agreement succeeds a previous contract between the two companies, extending StandardAero’s partnership with Air Niugini and Link PNG.

Air Niugini operates a large domestic and international network to Asia, Australia and the Pacific region. Since its establishment in 1973, the airline now operates a fleet of twenty jet airliners and six regional turboprops, carrying over 1.3 million passengers each year.

“This award follows an extension selection process and we congratulate StandardAero on their success,” says Bruce Alabaster, general manager of Link PNG. “The previous working relationship with StandardAero has been great, and we look forward to this continuing to be the case over the period of this contract”

“We are honored to be re-selected by Air Niugini as a provider of cost-effective PW123 engine services,” said Jason Johnson, vice president – Sales & Marketing for StandardAero’s Airline & Fleets business unit.  “Air Niugini’s inter-island operations demand the highest levels of engine reliability, and we are proud to continue serving the airline with a cost-effective pay-per-hour solution offering predictable maintenance costs.  We look forward to supporting Air Niugini and its customers with responsive support services for years to come.”
