Mitsubishi in Talks with Bombardier to Acquire CRJ Program

Mitsubishi has confirmed it is in talks with Bombardier to acquire their CRJ regional jet program. The company has been trying to break into the regional jet market.

Bombardier has been searching for a solution to an empty order backlog after 2020 and has been reorganizing its aviation business focus, including partnering with Airbus for the A220 series and the recent Q400 turboprop sale to Longview Capital.

Mitsubishi has been working to certify its own regional jet, the MRJ, a program that has fallen substantially behind schedule.
