Eufaula, Alabama’s airport was heavily damaged when a strong tornado blew through the area over the weekend. Twenty-one planes and about 25-30 hangers at the airport were destroyed with pieces of the buildings and aircraft scattered around the area surrounding the airport.
A three-mile stretch near the airport, that included a fire station as well, was directly in the path of the storm. Even with the loss of up to 30 hangars, many aircraft and several buildings, Eufaula Mayor Jack Tibbs said early that no injuries had been reported.
All the planes have been considered and labeled total losses.
