Tom Hendershot Passes Away

Tom Hendershot has passed away after a brief illness in Aurora, CO. He was 72. Hendershot served as the executive director of the AMT Society since 2007 after breaking ranks with the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA). According to a bio of Hendershot, he served on many boards including Denver FAASTeam, the FAA/Industry AMT Program, Aviation Technician Education Council; National Center for Aerospace & Transportation Technologies; Joint Service Aviation Maintenance Technician Certification Council; and the NBAA Maintenance Committee. He held an A&P with an Inspection Authorization and worked in the aviation industry for more than 53 years. In 2005 Hendershot received the Charles E. Taylor Master Mechanic Award celebrating his 50 years as a mechanic.
