Chromalloy used the occasion of the Paris Air Show to celebrate the company’s 60 years of serving the industry. “Today we celebrate Chromalloy’s 60th anniversary and exceptional legacy of research and development in technologies to extend the life of operators’ gas turbine engines,” said Armand F. Lauzon, Jr., president. “We’ve grown exponentially since our founding days and today, with 4,000 people at 52 locations worldwide, Chromalloy is the world’s leading independent turbine engine service provider.” According to the company, it develops about 200 new advanced repairs each year for the engine hot section, serving the world’s airlines, the U.S. military, and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) shops. Chromalloy proprietary coatings – including advanced thermal barrier coatings for turbine engine components – lower power systems’ thermal conductivity and allow higher engine temperatures, resulting in greater engine thrust. Higher thrust engines operate on the same amount of fuel as powerplants operating at lower temperatures says Chromalloy.
