Russian maintenance company Engineering Holding has stated that despite a downturn in the Russian commercial aviation sector, the company managed to sustained its operational results at the 2015 level.
Engineering’s subsidiaries S7 Engineering (with facilities at Domodedovo and Mineralnye Vody airports) and Sibir Technics,
(based at Novosibirsk’s Tolmachevo airport) logged a combined total of 1.8 million labor hours in 2016. This was achieved in part due to an increase in the number of heavy maintenance operations, such as six-year, 12-year, and redelivery checks, from 20 in 2015 to 24 last year.
In 2016 the introduction of new services included S7 Engineering’s agreement with SR Technics over the opening of a CFM56-5/7 engine repair shop, the only such facility in Russia and the CIS. The second project provided a facility to service and repair aircraft lavatories, launched with Zodiac Aerospace.
Following FAP-285 approval from Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency for all types of Sukhoi Superjet SSJ 100 maintenance services, the company now provides services for Gazprom Avia and IrAero.
