AMSI has announced that Retired Rear Admiral Mark Heinrich, U.S. Navy, has joined Associated Aircraft Manufacturing and Sales, Inc. (AAMSI) as president and CEO. Mark is a proven leader with a distinguished track record perfectly suited to lead AAMSI as the company expands its specialty products, MRO and services offerings, with integrated materiel and supply management solutions for defense, aerospace, aviation and maritime markets. Mark brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in operations, logistics, and supply chain management to this important role as AASMI evolves with a new class of offering that tightly integrates manufacturing, repair, sourcing, distribution and logistics services for global customers.
Admiral Heinrich (ret’d) joins AAMSI from Alvarez & Marsal, where he was a managing director, co-leading A&M’s public sector practice. In his final assignment in the Navy, he served as the Commander of the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) and the 46th Chief of Supply Corps, where he led 25,000 members of the Navy’s global supply chain practice. With extensive background in leading large scale ERP system implementations, integration of new technology, and management of NAVSUP’s seven billion dollar operating budget, Heinrich brings a wealth of insights key to leading AAMSI’s new charter to pioneer a leap forward in integrated service offerings.

“Going forward, AAMSI is uniquely advancing materiel and supply management enabling customers to solve long standing challenges associated with sourcing complex, critical specialty components and related repair and logistics services,” said Mark Heinrich, president and CEO, AAMSI. “Leveraging deep expertise in specialty products, technical services, manufacturing, and repair, along with the recently acquired DefenseView solution, AAMSI’s mission is to change the face of critical parts, supply and logistics services.”

Established in 1953, AAMSI holds a solid position within the aerospace and defense industries with agile aerospace manufacturing, repair and distribution expertise for military electronics, avionics and structural components. Expansion of AAMSI offerings is designed to enable access to advanced specialty products with previously unachieved levels of perfect order fulfillment, competitive pricing, supply chain transparency, responsiveness, and on-time delivery. Once implemented, a wide spectrum of aerospace, defense, aviation and maritime customers worldwide will have a new ability to procure new equipment & electronics, or repair existing equipment through the AAMSI supplier network, with full life-cycle order transparency.

“Mark knows and understands AASMI customers and their needs. We are confident that AAMSI will continue to grow and prosper under Mark’s leadership,” said Frank Lannon, chairman of the Board of AAMSI. “Everyone at AAMSI is delighted to have the opportunity to work with Admiral Heinrich.”

In addition to his assignment as Commander of NAVSUP and the 46th Chief of Supply Corps, Heinrich commanded the Defense Logistics Agency’s aviation center of excellence in Richmond, Virginia, and served as the Chief Operating Officer (J-3) of the Defense Logistics Agency in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He also commanded the NAVSUP Global Logistics Support Command, which had operational logistics support responsibilities to the Navy around the world. In 2008, Heinrich deployed to the Middle East as Director of the United States Central Command’s Deployment and Distribution Operations Center in Kuwait, where he applied deployment and distribution expertise to plan and execute joint and combined force military operations.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Heinrich also holds a MBA from the University of Kansas, as well as a Master of Science in Petroleum Management. In 2012, he was inducted into the University of Kansas School of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Hall of Fame. He also attended the Kellogg Graduate School of Management’s Advanced Executive program.

Kinsale Capital Partners, based in Chicago, is a major shareholder in AAMSI. With the addition of Admiral Heinrich (ret’d) and the partnership with Kinsale Capital Partners, the longtime owners, Peter Beaulieu and Frank Seguin have transitioned to Board of Director roles with the Company. In a joint statement, Messrs. Beaulieu and Seguin said, “We are very proud of what we have accomplished over the last 40 years with AAMSI. We are very excited about Admiral Heinrich leading our team, along with our partnership with Kinsale Capital Partners. We believe that these changes will provide great benefits to our customers, our suppliers, and our employees. We look forward to staying actively involved in our role as Board members of AAMSI.”
