PAS Technologies announced the hiring of Nancy P. Hitchins, CSP, MPH, as the company’s vice president of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS). Hitchins will lead PAS Technologies’ global efforts to enhance the company’s safety, environment compliance and health processes, standards and metrics. She will serve as the global safety program leader, driving the company’s worldwide efforts to create an accident-free workplace—one of PAS Technologies’ sustainability initiatives. She reports directly to Thomas C. Hutton, CEO.
Hitchins brings more than 20 years of experience in environment, health, safety, and technical management to her new position at PAS Technologies. Prior to joining PAS Technologies, Hitchins most recently held the position of Chief Specialist, HSE, at Vestas Wind Systems A/S. There, Hitchins was responsible for the implementation of the company’s control of their hazardous energy program. Prior to that, she served as Vice President, HSE, for Vestas Wind Systems A/S Denmark, where she was responsible for all elements of the HSE Management System to ensure global efficiency in HSE. She also spent two years as EH&S Manager Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines & Global Service Partners and two years as Sr. Manager, Safety & Health at KBR Government & Infrastructure. Prior to that, she served in various HSE and training roles with TECO Energy, Tampa Electric Company, and Cargill Fertilizer.
Hitchins has served on the boards of the TapRooT Root Cause Analysis, Edison Electric Institute Executive Health & Safety Committee, and Construction Users Roundtable Health & Safety Committee. She is also affiliated as a Board Certified Safety Professional (BCSP) and a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).
Hitchins has an MPH in Environmental and Occupational Health from University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Louisiana State University.
