In this position, Stedke will provide leadership for engineering services and standards, quality, maintenance safety, powerplant, and aircraft programs.
Stedke comes to Southwest from Federal Express, where he served for 15 years in progressively responsible positions, culminating in his role as the managing director of Aircraft Engineering Planning and Performance. His areas of responsibility at FedEx included Aircraft Engineering; Aircraft Maintenance Programs; Propulsion Engineering; Air Operations Technology; Engineering Planning; Aircraft Reliability; Air Operations Standards, Analysis, and Controls; Engineering Support; and Airline Fleet Management (Fleet Teams).
“Trevor’s passion for excellence, coupled with his experience, will be an asset to our team and will serve him well in his new role,” said Brian Hirshman, Southwest Airlines senior vice president of Technical Operations, to whom Stedke will report.
Stedke received a Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University in Aviation Engineering/Atmospheric Science, where he also completed United States Marine Corps Officer Training. In 2004, Stedke earned his Master of Science in Engineering Management from Christian Brothers University, where he completed a hybrid program which blended a Master of Engineering with a Master of Business Administration.
Stedke succeeds the previous vice president of Technical Services, who left the Company earlier this year. Stedke began his position at Southwest Airlines on June 20.
