SR Technics, part of the Mubadala Aerospace Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) network, has received Production Organization Approval from the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Aviation (FOCA).
SR Technics’ says its highly attractive location as an international business hub and its 80 years of MRO experience, enable them to deliver an unparalleled product in the VIP arena.
All interior design and engineering will be carried out at SR Technics’ VIP Completion Center in Zurich, which opened last year. The first aircraft to undergo the SR Technics’ VIP experience arrived in the third quarter of 2011.
“Throughout this year, 130 SR Technics’ employees across all areas and levels have been trained on how to implement the new production organization processes,” says James Stewart, group CEO of the Mubadala Aerospace MRO Network. “This approval is the foundation of our VIP business as it enables us to move from pure repair and overhaul, into the production arena, not only for VIP but for all clients.”

Under the terms of the approval, SR Technics is now licensed to manufacture and certify the following categories of aeronautical parts with a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Form 1:
• Cabinets, to include: Interior equipment cabinets and furnishings
• Composites, to include: Composite structural, interior and systems parts
• Sheet metal / metal elements, to include: Metallic structural, interior and systems parts
• Upholstery parts
• Electrical systems parts
