Low cost Mexican carrier Volaris and Lufthansa Technik have recently signed a 6-year component supply contract, completely effective from September 1st, 2012, for the carrier’s fleet of currently 37 aircraft of the A320 family.
Within the framework of the TCS contract, Lufthansa Technik’s experts will take care of all aspects relating to daily component supplies for Volaris. The contract includes maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the components of the current 24 Airbus A319 and 13 A320 aircraft including further Airbus aircrafts to be delivered to the airline in the coming years. Spare components shall be supplied to the airline’s customized home base in Mexico City. The repair and pooling of the components will be done at Lufthansa Technik facilities in Hamburg and Tulsa / Oklahoma.
A Lufthansa Technik representative coordinates the logistic services on site and will be assisted by the Lufthansa Technik Customer Support Group in Fort Lauderdale / Florida in addition to Lufthansa Technik’s general 24/7 Aircraft-On-Ground helpdesk.
Part of the contract is also the integration of IT-services, which guarantees the airline a seamless data exchange between Lufthansa Technik’s manage/m maintenance web suite and Volaris’ own web-based maintenance management system.
“Lufthansa Technik convinced us, that even a large MRO (Maintenance,
Repair and Overhaul) provider could customize its services to the individual needs of a growing carrier that continues building a high-frequency operation that requires the best reliability,” said Enrique Beltranena, CEO of Volaris.
